First proper sewing project in a while.
Take funky coloured teatowels from Freedom, buy matching fabirc and coloured binding (don't make binding unless you are REALLY keen and have lots of time and patience!). Cut off the thick hems and shape the bottom so it is curved. Sew on binding around edges and along top using excess for waist ties. Sew funky pattern of your choice on the pocket and then attach to apron.
